Hide or Die Glossary
Key terms used throughout Hide or Die and this wiki. Terminology is kept in English as used in-game.
- Hider
- The team that hides by morphing into map props. Hiders must survive until the round timer expires. When eliminated, a Hider joins the Seeker team.
- Seeker
- The hunting team that searches for disguised Hiders using weapons. Seekers play in first-person and have infinite ammunition.
- Morph
- The core Hider ability. Press F (or the mobile morph button) near a prop to transform into that object, matching its appearance and size.
- Anchor
- A UI button that locks your morphed prop in place on a surface, preventing accidental movement when adjusting the camera.
- Whistle
- A mandatory mechanic that triggers approximately every 30 seconds. All Hiders whistle, revealing their general location to Seekers via audio and a red circle indicator.
- Power
- In-round abilities including Healing (default), Speed, Freeze, and Swap. Purchased with coins or picked up during matches.
- Coin
- The primary in-game currency earned from matches, map pickups, codes, and daily rewards. Spent on powers, crates, and cosmetics.
- Crate
- Loot boxes purchased with coins. Four tiers exist: Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Spooky, with increasing cost and cosmetic rarity.
- Battle Pass
- Seasonal 30-tier progression track offering free and premium (600 Robux) reward tracks with exclusive skins and coins.
- Game Pass
- Permanent Robux purchases such as 2x Coins, 2x XP, Extra Health, and Rapid Fire that provide ongoing account perks.
- Prop Hunt
- A game genre where hiders disguise as environmental objects while seekers attempt to find them. Hide or Die is Roblox's take on this format.
- Place ID
- Roblox identifier 18799085098 used to locate the official Hide or Die experience on the platform.
